All games would be designed to be interactive, so kids can do more than simply watching television. The intended audience would be three to six-year-old children whose parents (or at least one of their parents) are of Korean descent residing in the United States. It assumes that some of the target audience (e.g. children of Korean-Korean couples) may be exposed to the Korean language from birth, while most of the remaining other children (e.g. children of interracial or interethnic couples, including Korean-White, Korean-Chinese couples, etc.) may have limited exposure to Korean, because English may be the primary language used in the home domain. With these assumptions in mind, the proposed media product aims to achieve two learning goals: 1) to enable the target audience to learn and maintain the Korean language through a bilingual learning setting; and 2) to enable them to experience cultural diversity and have positive attitudes toward cross-racial (or cross-ethnic) friendships.
