- Group Technology(GT) is the realization that many problems are similar, and that by grouping similar problems, a single solution can be found to a set of problems thus saving time and effort ( V. B. Soloja, 1969)
- GT is a philosophy that implies the notion of recognizing and explosion similarities in three different ways(Hyer and Wemmerlöv, 1985):
¨ç By performing like activities together
¨è By standardizing similar tasks
¨é By efficiently storing and retrieving information about recurring problems.
