System redesign
For people who want to take a seat on the subway, we design some signal system within the subway.
1.1) Electronic display system
Nowadays, there is the electronic display on the subway platform which gives people some information about arriving subway. It has 3 different kinds of information. First, it has 3-4 stops on the monitor, and shows which car is on which stop. Second, how long it takes for the next subway to arrive. Third, what direction this arriving car is heading for.

We would like to add new function to this system which shows how many empty seats are left in each car in the next arriving subway. This will have a similar function to the parking lot display system which shows the number of available space for parking on each floor.

y one seat, not two seats. The situation is like this. People stand in front of the seats, waiting for an empty seat. They pick the most likely person to abandon one¡¯s seat, and wait in front of him. However, in this process, there are some people who wait in a grey area. They wait in a vague location between two seats to have both seats. We want to prevent such two timers especially when the subway car is full. We expect the foot prints will help out.
We put foot prints on the floor in front of each seat. We expect the following changes. First, people will unconsciously match their feet on the prints naturally. Second, since most people will know what the printings mean, the waiting people will mind the public¡¯s eyes. So they will think it¡¯s somewhat embarrassing to ignore the foot prints.
